A quick Mental Health services referral🤨?

  1. Be referred
  2. ……..
  3. Wait
  4. ……..
  5. ……..
  6. Wait some more
  7. ……..
  8. ……..
  9. ……..
  10. Continue waiting
  11. ……..
  12. ……..
  13. ……..
  14. ……..
  15. ‘Sorry, we have no record of the referral.’

This is the process for a lot of people and, honestly, it’s outrageous. So many people find the courage to tell someone that they need help, only to be told they have months to wait or that they won’t even be put on the waiting list. How did we get to a point where people have to be moments away from death to access the smallest amount of support?

Service users are waiting obscene amounts of time for support, health professionals are overworked and all services are overstretched.

The government needs to be held accountable for the state of our health service.
